Roger Wende is Sales Manager East Coast for Volume Graphics, a developer of leading software for the analysis and visualization of industrial computed tomography (CT) data. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at SMU in Dallas, TX and has spent the past 23 years in the NDT market. A fun fact about Roger: He helped NASA reduce the size and weight of their toilet by half for the shuttle system in the late 90s using ultrasonic hardware.

Comprehensive (Automated) Inspection of Porosity and Geometry using Computed Tomography (CT)
Computed tomography (CT) has changed the world of industrial quality control. As scanning time has decreased, the amount of information that can be retrieved via automated inspection has increased. Today’s modern industrial CT software uses sophisticated metrology and analysis algorithms to find pores and the local surface for improved measurement accuracy. In this presentation, we will demonstrate how to generate a single universal quality description of a part using standard analyses, e.g., coordinate measurement, nominal/actual comparison, wall thickness, and porosity/inclusion. The shown methods represent an efficient and cost-saving technology for first article inspection, product life cycle management, and of course development and production processes.
