ROCHESTER, NY-Quality Vision International Inc. (QVI) announces that its subsidiary company, View Engineering (Simi Valley, CA) acquires the assets of Micro-Metric Inc. (San Jose, CA), a manufacturer of high-accuracy, noncontact measuring systems for the semiconductor, data storage and microelectromechanical systems industries.
QVI also has acquired Kotem Technologies Inc. (Budaörs, Hungary), a designer and manufacturer of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and metrology fitting software for precision measurement systems.
The addition of Micro-Metric and Kotem to the QVI family of companies continues the corporation's commitment to nanometrology, the realm of measurements of 100 nanometers or less. These acquisitions fortify the resources and capabilities of the corporation's "technologies by QVI" which are applied to the products and services of all the QVI member companies.
According to E.T. Polidor, president of QVI, "Micro-Metric's extensive experience in dimensional microscopy together with Kotem's metrology software expertise will allow us to satisfy dimensional measurement requirements in nanotechnology for years to come."
Micro-Metric manufactures three series of noncontact measuring systems: INNOVA, MicroLine and IMS. All Micro-Metric systems feature stable metrology platforms, high-magnification optics, vibration isolation and proprietary applications software.
