Brown & Sharpe Inc. (North Kingstown, RI) has acquired Meas Inc. (Charlotte, NC), a precision measurement applications engineering firm. The acquisition of Meas re-establishes the Brown & Sharpe Precision Center in Charlotte.

"Meas Inc. has one of the strongest applications engineering teams in the United States and has a particular expertise with PC-DMIS measurement and inspection software, Brown & Sharpe's primary software product," says Jack Rosingnal, Brown & Sharpe's vice president of commercial operations. In addition to applications engineering, the Charlotte facility will offer other aftermarketing services including contract inspection and part programming, and software training.
