NORWALK, CT—Assembly Technology Expo, the world’s largest “all assembly” trade event, will feature a keynote address by Gerald Palmer, vice president of Caterpillar Inc.’s Wheel Loaders & Excavators Division. His presentation, titled “Six Sigma is About Success,” will open the event on September 23.
In his keynote, Palmer will share information about Caterpillar’s success with its implementation of Design for Six Sigma. Caterpillar uses the Six Sigma set of strategies, statistics and methods to improve the processes it uses to do everything from designing to manufacturing a product; from marketing products and services to providing business information to internal and external customers.
Palmer, who has been with Caterpillar since 1963, assumed his current position in 1998. The company is the world’s largest maker of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural-gas engines, and industrial gas turbines.
Assembly Technology Expo will be held Sept. 23 to 25 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (Rosemont, IL). For more information, visit the show’s Web site at www.atexpo.com.
