Each year, Paccar awards those companies whose quality performance achieves 50 parts per million (PPM) defective or less with the presentation of the 50 PPM Recognition Certificate.
Paccar Director of Material/Purchasing Logistics Ann Garrett presented QI President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Mayfield with the certificate at an awards ceremony with many of its 257 employees in attendance on Tuesday, May 12, 2009.
Of the 60 companies that compose the fabrication supply base to Paccar, only four suppliers received this recognition. In 2008, QI shipped more than 1,161,000 parts with only 28 parts rejected for a year ending PPM level of 24, less than half the Paccar goal.
Not only a supplier in the large truck market, QI supplies products to manufacturers of appliances, electrical enclosures, engineered aluminum structures and has its own proprietary line of food service equipment. QI has recently entered the solar energy market, partnering with a manufacturer in California in the production of single-axis, photovoltaic solar power installations.
