OSCEOLA, WI- Northwire Technical Cable , a technical and retractile cables and cable assemblies company, has presented its Ormund A. Kravik Award to 35-year team member and industry veteran Harold Gjerning. The award, named for company founder Ormund A. Kravik, recognizes work ethic, commitment to quality, ingenuity, innovation, integrity, meticulousness, engineering acumen, an entrepreneurial spirit and a comprehensive solution-oriented approach to problem solving. Gjerning was nominated by his Northwire peers for the award.
Gjerning, a resident of Wisconsin, began working at Northwire in 1975 as a cable operator. He was later promoted to extruder operator, quality assurance technician and agency compliance engineer, his current title. Harold holds several professional certifications, including his most recent 2010 accomplishment as a Certified Quality Technician from the American Society of Quality. Additionally, the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) recognizes Harold as a Certified Testing Technician. He is responsible for the management of the Supervised Manufacturer Testing Certification at Northwire. These in-house CSA certification capabilities expedite products to market, shorten lead times, reduce certification costs and ensure compliance with agency specifications.
