NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI-Metrology solutions provider Hexagon
Metrology Inc. has announced that its parent company Hexagon AB has purchased
all the outstanding assets and intellectual property of German vision systems
manufacturer Mycrona GmbH. The
acquisition comes shortly after the announcement of Hexagon’s acquisition of
Mahr Multisensor GmbH. Both businesses
will be integrated into the Hexagon Metrology business unit.
“Both these acquisitions demonstrate Hexagon Metrology’s
firm commitment to the multisensor vision market,” said Angus Taylor, president
and CEO of Hexagon Metrology, Inc. “We
already have a close working relationship with Mycrona in North America through
an exclusive distribution arrangement that has been in place for two years, so
this represents a logical step forward.”
Mycrona’s line of multisensor metrology machines were already fully
integrated with Hexagon Metrology’s PC-DMIS Vision software, and have been
available with the software for more than four years.
