SILVER SPRING, MD-Imperium Inc., make of the Acoustocam, a portable ultrasound imaging camera, has announced that Air Dynamics, a supplier of industrial equipment to the aerospace industry, will resell the Acoustocam to its customer base in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada for inspection and maintenance purposes.
The Acoustocam is a handheld device that may be used as part of quick survey of suspected damage areas. The device shows subsurface defects that cannot be seen visually. The operator places a probe against the aircraft structure and subsurface defects appear on a handheld monitor in real time.
“The time and cost savings from using a hand-held device that can immediately provide results is going to change the way our customers conduct routine maintenance and equipment inspection,” says Bruce Truesdale, founder and president of Air Dynamics. “Our customers are going to benefit instantly from using the Acoustocam for these important and necessary processes, including post-accident inspections.”
“Air Dynamics is a very exciting partner for us with their vast customer base that we believe will benefit tremendously from our ultrasound imaging technology,” says Bob Lasser, president of Imperium. “We continue to expand globally with partners such as Air Dynamics, and look forward to a long and growing relationship with them.”
