Lakeview Vision & Robotics(LVR) announced the availability of a pioneering, vision-guided robotic inspection system that provides both automated inspection and decision making via an exclusive process monitoring tool.
The low-cost LVR inspection system, which utilizes an ST RoboticsR12 articulated robot arm, a high-density camera and precision algorithms, can substantially increase the quality of product manufacturing while decreasing labor and product liability costs.
LVR’s vision-guided robot system surpasses the standard techniques currently used on the manufacturing floor, and at a fraction of the cost. The robotic system can inspect 100% of parts, thereby eliminating the traditional sampling method. It can also make multi-dimensional, high-speed measurements to 0.001 inches, often in less than one minute.
The easy-to-use technology features graphical user interfaces (GUI), requires very little training, can be used for multiple parts, and consumes a small manufacturing footprint. In addition to inspection, the adaptive, flexible robot system can also sort and package.
LVR has initially addressed the orthopedic marketplace, but the robot and vision system is applicable to any manufacturing environment where high tolerances and high quality are required.
