DEARBORN, MI, May 28, 2008 - Show organizers of AeroTest America 2008 Expo & Forum and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) have announced their joint collaboration on an SME Aerospace Measurement, Inspection & Analysis Conference, to be held on November 18 and 19 alongside the AeroTest America event at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX.
The SME-facilitated conference will offer attendees the opportunity to receive education on quality issues affecting manufacturing in aerospace and other industries, as well as to engage in active dialogue with industry peers involved in application of development of synergistic manufacturing technologies.
Conference programming is planned as a blend of technology updates, process optimization ideas and case studies, with topical focus related to measurement and inspection and data collection and analysis.
Notes Mark Tomlinson, SME executive director and general manager, “We are very excited to partner with AeroTest America 2008 on this dedicated quality conference. Quality is an important issue in aerospace manufacturing, as OEMs and suppliers strive to meet accelerated production rates and higher standards. Inspection and verification techniques that catch defects only after parts have been created are no longer acceptable. This shift from detection to prevention is placing inspection on the manufacturing floor to provide timely feedback for process control and correction.”
AeroTest America 2008, also co-located with the Society of Flight Test Engineers Annual International Symposium and Global Windtunnel Symposium, is a comprehensive showcase of the latest analytical, testing and evaluation, measurement, inspection, monitoring and compliances technologies, solutions, equipment, specialist services and facilities all in one venue, meeting the demanding needs of the civil and military aviation, space engineering and airborne defense industries.
