The QCweld950 is a vision-based product designed to inspect critical features of all types of resistance welding electrodes. The device inspects tip diameter, angle, height and alignment. In addition to dimensional inspection, the product also can detect flaws such as mushrooming and offers a load cell option to measure the force applied at the electrode tips. The target market for this device is robotic automotive chassis welding, where the product can be positioned within the robot cell. The robot can perform programmed automatic inspections, and the data can be communicated to the work cell controller for decisions on redressing or replacing the electrodes.
