The MHS angle measuring system offers high accuracy for swivel or rotating axes and rotary tables. Calibrating the encoder ring scale during the initial installation startup is facilitated by temporarily mounting a secondary encoder head and rotating the ring scale axis. The integration of the encoder ring scale directly onto the rotating part, close to the bearing and without a mechanical coupling, provides precision positioning and high accuracy. With an IP67 rating, the ring scale can be mounted in an area where there are fluids such as oil and grease without affecting reliability or accuracy. The stainless steel encoder ring scale can be made for diameters from 60 to 3,000 millimeters, and is constructed from linear scale tape 0.65 millimeter thick.
