THE WOODLANDS, TX-Management Certification of North America (MCNA) has changed its name from Moody International Certification Inc. Tom Harris, president of the registrar, says that the new name was adopted to reflect the company’s purpose and services: the auditing and certification of its clients’ management systems to globally recognized standards.
Harris’s partnership, TWH Group Ventures, completed the purchase of Moody International’s North American client base on April 1, 2009, and believed a name change would be appropriate to reflect the new ownership. Harris was the original managing director, establishing the North American organization for Moody in 1996 and operating a franchise for the organization from 2003 until 2007.
Harris and his partner, Patti Wigginton, had been engaged by the Moody International Group to manage the United States-based operations in early 2007, based on their familiarity with the organization and a combined 36 years of experience in this unique industry.
The sale, a management buy-out, and transition of the company progressed during the last year and have now been completed. All staff members and auditors have continued to work for and support the new ownership and new resources have been added to the staff to enhance the level of service to clients and auditors. New services to be offered are IRCA approved lead auditor and internal auditor training along with future development and delivery of classes on corrective and preventive action.
The United States accrediting body, ANAB, has been supportive of the ownership and name change and MCNA continues to serve its clients, offering accredited registration to the ISO 9001 and AS9100 Standards.
