BOXBOROUGH, MA-Intertek, a provider of quality and safety solutions, is presenting a seminar addressing the specific quality management system (QMS) considerations of automotive suppliers that are expanding into new industries. “Transitioning Your ISO/TS 16949 Quality System to Include ISO 13485 and AS9100 Requirements” will take place in Detroit on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, and in Toronto on Wednesday, September 30.
An automotive supplier starting to diversify into the medical or aerospace industries can use its existing ISO/TS 16949 certified management system to meet the QMS requirements that those industries mandate. By recognizing the similarities between ISO/TS 16949, ISO 13485 and AS9100, an organization can integrate multiple management systems while avoiding waste and minimizing the impact on the business.
The seminar consists of two three-hour modules: the morning session (8:30 am to 11:30 am) covers ISO 13485 and the medical industry, while the afternoon session (1:00 pm to 4:00 pm) covers AS9100 and the aerospace industry. Intertek’s automotive, aerospace and medical program managers will lead the seminar, each drawing on their extensive auditing expertise to help attendees prepare for a smooth transition.
The tuition of $295 per person per module (ISO 13485 or AS9100), or $550 per person for both modules, includes all seminar materials and refreshments. Attendees will earn .3 CEUs (continuing education units) per module, which may be applied towards continuing education or training requirements.
