The smartEDDY 4.0 metals and metal parts inspection system is fully automated, contact-free and has an auto-restart feature, which automatically re-starts the unit in the event of a power failure. The functions of this feature include re-running the test set-up (default) procedure and fully recovering quality data-without operator intervention. The unit can work as an inspection instrument, a measurement instrument or an imaging system, and can be fully integrated to communicate with production line control systems while providing quality records. It also works off-line in quality labs or in the field, providing nondestructive testing, failure analysis and data. Three versions are available: embedded system, an instrument designed to be incorporated into the control system of modern, automated production lines; industrial system, for modern production environments where a unit with a small footprint is required; and laboratory system, for use in research and quality assurance labs, or other PC-suitable environments.
