BARRINGTON, NJ - Dr. Jeremy Chang, who until now has served as managing director for Edmund Optics, China, has been promoted to vice president, Asia operations, for Edmund Optics, a newly-created position. In his new position, Dr. Chang will direct and coordinate the management and leadership of all manufacturing, sales, marketing, service, inventory, distribution, product development, supplier relations, finance and organization development for all Asia operations of Edmund Optics, reporting directly to Robert Edmund, the company's chief executive officer.

Dr. Jeremy Chang offers tremendous experience in business strategy, optics manufacturing, and organization development to the entire EO Asia Team. His assignment to unite our sales & operations teams while expanding our customer base into countries such as China and Taiwan is clearly an exciting but challenging endeavor," says Edmund.
When Dr. Chang joined EO as managing director, China, in April 2005, he assumed the added responsibilities of overseeing and coordinating the startup of EO's Shenzhen and the restructuring of the Shanghai operations, while expanding EO's market in China. In 2007, he assumed additional responsibilities which included coordinating and overseeing strategic Asian manufacturing and sales team meetings.

A Hong Kong native with more than 20 years experience in optics, Dr. Chang earned his Ph.D. in Photonics from Imperial College, University of London. He served in the Hong Kong chapter of the SPIE from 1997-2008. Chang currently serves as the vice chairman of the Hong Kong Optical Engineering Society, formally the industrial division of the SPIE, and was the founding president of the Hong Kong Photographic and Optics Manufacturing Association (HKPOMA), for which he currently serves as an Executive Committee member.
