COLUMBUS, OH — Arnold “Arny” Bereson was named executive director of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), the world's largest technical society for nondestructive testing (NDT) professionals.
Coming to Columbus, Ohio from Southern California, Bereson brings twenty years of executive experience in the nonprofit sector, serving associations such as the Academy of Certified Diabetes Educators, Foresters, the Simon Youth Foundation and the Enterprise Corporation of Tampa Bay, Florida.
“Dr. Bereson has demonstrated an exceptional ability to engage volunteers, industry leaders, and local communities,” said Roger Engelbart, ASNT board chairman, “We’re excited to see his talents at work for ASNT.”
Dr. Bereson earned a Ph.D. in Human Services, Management of Nonprofit Organizations from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minn. His education also includes a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Science in Materials Science.
The executive drector is responsible for administering allocated resources toward achieving the Society’s goals, directing day-to-day operations and acting as the official spokesperson for the society.
The American Society for Nondestructive Testing, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is an international technical society with m ore than 15,000 members.
