HATFIELD, PA Ken Horvath joined Laboratory Testing Inc. as metrology manager.

He recently relocated to the Philadelphia, Penn. area from Los Angeles, Calif. to accept the new position. Laboratory Testing Inc. is an accredited, independent materials testing, nondestructive testing and calibration laboratory in business for over thirty years. LTI provides services to customers throughout the USA and a number of other countries from a wide-range of industries including aerospace, military, power generation and medical. Horvath oversees the Metrology Department, known as LTI Metrology, which performs A2LA-accredited dimensional inspection and NIST-traceable calibration services for many of these customers.

“We are fortunate to have many long-time employees in key positions in our Metrology Department, which enables us to excel at efficiently processing orders and providing technical support to customers," said Mike Hiller, former Director of Metrology and third-generation member of the family-run business. “In filling this position, we were looking for years of outside experience and new ideas that will continue to grow our calibration services and sales.”

Horvath has more than thirty years of experience in calibration working for Raytheon in southern California. He began his career as a calibration technician, and most recently held the position of regional manager, overseeing Raytheon’s west coast calibration labs. Prior to that, he worked for Multicraft, a manufacturer in the automotive industry. Horvath holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics from the former vocational school called Control Data Institute.

As metrology manager, Horvath will direct the operations of the Department performing both calibration and dimensional inspection services. He will also be responsible for developing customer relationships and new sales, as well as forecasting and planning for the Department.

Laboratory Testing Inc. officially established LTI Metrology in 1992 by introducing a selection of calibration services, although the Lab had already begun performing dimensional inspection services a few years earlier. LTI received its first A2LA accreditation certificate in 1989 for dimensional inspection and added the calibration certificate in 2001.
