BOCA RATON, FL — IMPERX welcomed Lee Kimes to the engineering department as the new director of research and development. He will be in charge of the company's new R&D Facility in Orlando, FL and is excited to begin working on several new projects.
Lee joins IMPERX with over 25 years of experience. He has been a part of the military and aerospace industry since 1987. He began at the Advanced Design Group of Westinghouse's Center of Excellence for Electro-Optical Systems and during his time there, he focused on infrared imaging systems and imaging electronics. After eight years at Westinghouse, he started working at FLIR Systems in research and development for large gimbaled EO/IR systems as well as laser designator development. He continued with FLIR, for 18 years, working on imaging processing, avionics electronics and electrical systems and was responsible for IR development and research. Lee held positions as EE manager and director of engineering.
While taking the next step in his career as director of research and development, Lee will be working on developing new products and ideas for IMPERX. With his extensive background in imaging and experience managing engineering departments, Lee Kimes will be a strong asset to the IMPERX Team.
