RAUFOSS, NORWAY — DolphiTech began delivery of DolphiCam ultrasound NDT inspection systems to Volkswagen Group and Audi. The system will be used for damage inspection of automotive carbon fibre (CFRP) primary structures in collision centers worldwide.
The DolphiCam NDT system detects impact damage, delamination and de-bonding defects in carbon fibre structures. The system guides the operator through inspections to make sure the correct inspection procedure is applied to the area with suspected damage.
“The Audi Space Frame used in the latest version of the Audi R8 sports car uses a combination of aluminium and CFRP to reduce weight. We have developed an NDT solution that gives trained and certified technicians in Volkswagen Group collision centers an easy-to-use yet powerful tool to inspect composite primary structures. We were selected by Lamborghini in 2014 and are now pleased announce the start of delivery to the entire Volkswagen Group,” said Jan Olav Endrerud, CEO of DolphiTech.
