BRAUNSCHWEIG, GERMANY — GOM has moved to its new headquarters in Braunschweig, Germany.
With the relocation, GOM reacts to the rising demand for 3D testing and 3D metrology systems. Particularly, the worldwide need for automated measuring and inspection procedures led to the relocation and thus to enlarged production and development departments.
In addition to production halls and logistics, the campus of the new headquarters includes research and development laboratories, administration as well as a customer center for training and presentations within an area of 8 ha. At the site in Braunschweig, up to 500 employees, including engineers, computer scientists and mathematicians, will shape the optical measuring technology of the future. As a consequence, the company considerably contributes to the industrial processes in regards to “Industry 4.0”. Only by digitizing the actual states of finished and semi-finished products and tools in 3D, this development became possible. Based on the measuring results, production, maintenance and servicing systems will be self-controlled in the future.
GOM develops, produces and distributes software, sensor technology, automated systems and complete solutions for industrial applications in 3D metrology and 3D testing. Worldwide, the company comprises over 60 sites with an employee network of more than 1,000 metrology specialists, including partners and subsidiaries. Today, more than 10,000 system installations improve product quality and accelerate product development and manufacturing processes for international companies in the automotive, aerospace and consumer goods industries and their suppliers. GOM systems support the development of new materials and manufacturing processes also in research institutes and universities. In the past fiscal year, GOM achieved a double-digit increase in sales amounting to three-digit millions for the first time.
