LANARKSHIRE, SCOTLAND — Information management software specialists Ideagen joined Safety Group West of Scotland (SGWS) for an informative visit to Terex Trucks in Lanarkshire.
Terex Trucks provided a tour of their premises at Newhouse Industrial Estate near Motherwell and demonstrated some of the quality and safety processes involved in their operations.
The company, a manufacturer of rigid and articulated trucks, successfully showcased how safety and quality management challenges are dealt with in real time using Ideagen’s Q-Pulse software.
Management also detailed how Terex Trucks became the first organisation in its industry and one of the first globally to achieve accreditation to the latest ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard.
Jane Murdoch, a key member of Ideagen’s manufacturing and services team based in East Kilbride, organised the site visit.
Murdoch, who has been involved with safety groups for many years and is also vice chair of the Scottish Chamber of Safety, said: “This was an excellent visit to see how a globally renowned organisation such as Terex Trucks manages quality and safety challenges on a daily basis.
“Terex Trucks provided an overview of their Q-Pulse system and demonstrated how they became one of first company's in the world to achieve the new ISO 9001:2015 standard using the software.
“Those who attended had a tour of the factory and witnessed first-hand how safety and quality challenges are dealt with in real time.
“There was also time for us to see Terex’s trucks in action. But the key takeaway from the visit was the true cultural core values of safety, quality and environmental management and awareness which is clearly in operation throughout the site.
