The PC-DMIS Users’ Group meeting is designed to help users and managers master new software features, apply best practices, and achieve improved workflows and inspection planning for their individual manufacturing applications. On Tuesday, June 12, the entire day is devoted to exclusive training on advanced topics including automated metrology systems, digital data management, embedded geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), new programming workflows and much more. Each two-hour training session offers dedicated question and answer time to address involved and difficult metrology questions from participants.
The meeting agenda for the following two days includes content-rich sessions from PC-DMIS executives and product specialists. Hexagon recently launched PC-DMIS 2018 R1, the first of two major releases scheduled this year, which incorporated the software community’s most requested enhancements. Ken Woodbine, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence's product line manager for metrology software, will discuss the evolution of PC-DMIS measurement workflows, demonstrate new features of PC-DMIS 2018 R2, and offer sneak peaks of current developments. He will cover the recent implementation of the HexagonMI Idea Center and its impact on software development moving forward.
Another high-level presentation will provide a firsthand look at the latest revisions to ASME and ISO GD&T standards and deliberate its impact on the industry in the future. The session will be led by Rob Jensen, chair of ASME Y14.5.1 Math Committee, member of Y14.5, US TAG to ISO, and product owner for GD&T inside the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Metrology Software Product Line. Other highlights include a Workflow Optimization Workshop for shop-floor metrology users, and track sessions covering point cloud inspection, metrology data management and applied statistical process control (SPC), how to solve high accuracy and freeform metrology workflows, and much more. The program also includes an opportunity for users to share their ideas for PC-DMIS development in a live ideas session, as well as an introduction to HxGN SMART Quality, Hexagon's online quality data and measurement resource management platform.
