2.0 — I’m guessing that just by writing this number, in this format, many of you know where I’m heading.

In the quality industry, dealing with big data can feel like battling extraneous detail and being ever vigilant against poor assumptions. With millions of points of data, we can be overwhelmed by what is important and what is not.

Information, knowledge, confidence, and an appreciation of risk and reward are important in quality.

Why do we remember the past, and not the future? It’s an interesting question in that it is thought provoking.

Multidimensionality has a specific definition, but like many other words, the definition shifts, or is tweaked, depending on the subject being spoken of and its context.

It’s called Roko's Basilisk. This thought experiment posits that the creation of an artificial intelligence will lead to an all-powerful, future artificial intelligence that will retroactively punish anyone who did not help bring it into existence.

It starts with a question: “What’s the worst that can happen?” Sounds like the sentiment underlying any over-the-top movie centered on a buddy’s bachelor party.

Rube Goldberg is an American cartoonist well known for his illustrations depicting overly elaborate devices designed to accomplish relatively simple functions. These types of devices became widely known as Rube Goldberg machines.

Consolidation is something we’ve all done. It’s efficient and can help save time and space and naturally leads to greater organization and productivity.
