Keith Bevan is the head of manufacturing training for the National Physical Laboratory's (NPL) in the United Kingdom, responsible for the delivery network activities of NPL's training framework, training materials, and quality of delivery. Keith has been involved in metrology for more than 40 years and is now actively involved in the development and implementation of different learning solutions in the classroom and online. During 2012, Keith was part of the NPL team that won the “Best Training Scheme" award through the Manufacturers Technologies Association. He currently serves as the past chair of the Executive Committee of Coordinate Metrology Society.

Dr. Carlos Alberto Escobar is a research scientist. He is the author of the book “Machine Learning in Manufacturing: Quality 4.0 and the Zero Defects Vision”, Elsevier 2023. He worked for over seven years at the Manufacturing Systems Research Lab of General Motors, Global Research and Development. He studies the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to manufacturing systems to improve quality and productivity. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in top journals of manufacturing, quality, and AI. His research topic has been presented in top conferences and according to a published bibliometric study, he is considered one of the most cited and fruitful authors in Quality 4.0. Dr. Escobar obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with concentration in AI and master’s degree in Quality Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He also obtained a master’s in industrial engineering from New Mexico State University and currently he is pursuing a master’s in Management at Harvard Extension School (HES), where he also worked as a Faculty Aide. Dr. Escobar was in the Mexican national team of martial arts and today he enjoys teaching his colleagues this sport.

Eric is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds a PhD in Solid State Inorganic Chemistry. Eric was the 2017 ASQ (American Society for Quality) Chair of the Board of Directors. He has served as ASQ Past Chair, Chair-Elect, and ASQ Treasurer, as well as a member of the Board of Examiners for the South Carolina Governor’s Quality Award.

Tom draws on his experience of going places and measuring things to realize special projects, quote new jobs, and train the next generation of dimensional metrologists. Tom co-authored the book 3D Scanning for Advanced Manufacturing, Design, and Construction, which provides an overview of scanning and its uses. He is chair of the certification subcommittee for the Coordinate Metrology Society.

David Mihal manages the Metrology Software sales team for Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence North America. He is directly responsible for Q-DAS SPC statistical process control software, and SpatialAnalyzer and Inspire metrology software for portable 3D measurement devices. David joined Hexagon in 2011 managing metrology systems sales in the Northwest region. In 2014 his focus turned to software sales when he joined Hexagon’s SpatialAnalyzer division, managing relationships at Boeing and other large key accounts. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from University of Washington with concentrations in marketing and information systems, an education which has provided him with a unique understanding of both technical and executive level decisions. David has won numerous top performer awards along the way. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking and skiing.

Edward Morse worked at the Brown and Sharpe Mfg. Co. in the coordinate measuring machine division prior to earning his master's and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University. He has been a professor at UNC Charlotte for 19 years, pursuing research in geometric tolerancing, doordinate metrology, large scale metrology, and measurement uncertainty. Dr. Morse serves on several national (ASME) and international (ISO) standards committees for tolerancing and metrology standards.

A true industry veteran, Andy has more than 25 years of experience in the technology and automation markets, with leadership experience in automatic identification, machine vision, robotics, and motion control for factory automation, life sciences and logistics. Prior to joining Zebra, Andy has held multiple leadership roles in Customer Service, Marketing and Engineering, and most recently was President and CEO of Omron Microscan and Omron Delta Tau.
Andy earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.
