Quality Vision International (QVI) announced that it has acquired ShapeGrabber Incorporated, a manufacturer of automated 3D scanners for industrial applications.
Total sales of machine vision components and systems grew over nine percent in 2013. According to AIA, this more than doubles the initially forecasted growth according to new statistics issued by the Automated Imaging Association, AIA, the industry’s trade group.
As of now, the new universal interface to MVTec’s standard machine vision software, HALCON, is available for image acquisition with all USB3 Vision compliant cameras.
Although optical filters are often viewed as an afterthought in machine vision applications, their ability to optimize lighting and the entire vision system makes them so valuable that they should be considered from the initial planning stages of most applications.
